Credited Roles

UE5 Engineer

I was less involved with developing new tools for the Amazing Digital Circus compared to previous Glitch shows – most of my work on the programming front was based on modifying existing tools from Murder Drones and Meta Runner to work with the new style and pipeline used for the Amazing Digital Circus. The team working on the Amazing Digital Circus regularly used my tools to assist with animation import, shot setup, and rendering, and there is a whole suite of other tools for more specific jobs and scenarios that have helped make everyone’s work a lot easier. During development of these two episodes (and Murder Drones episode 7), Glitch hired a new UE5 Engineer to take over a lot of my duties. I became his mentor and lead, managing his tasks and priorities as he picked up where I left off with the suite of in-house Unreal Engine tools.

Crowd Technical Artist

My involvement with the crowd in the Amazing Digital Circus was more of an overseer role due to my primary focus on the IT Technician role during the development of the pilot and episode 2. I mainly helped with the planning of the crowd including the Gloinks and the background mannequins, allowing for the credited crowd artist to put it all together.

IT Technician

My primary role during the development period of the pilot and episode 2 was this role. Glitch Productions moved to a new, bigger office during development of the pilot, so it was my responsibility to ensure that the new office was set up correctly with all of the necessary technical equipment to ensure a smooth transition between locations. This included setting up the network in the new office, planned outages and moving of essential servers and equipment between locations, PC upgrades, and a number of other various tech jobs to make sure the disruption to development was as minimal as possible. During development of episode 2, I mainly focused on trying to optimise data flow and access for overseas workers, and assisted in the hiring and training of a replacement for me, as I was stepping back to focus on building my own company at this time.

Note: I was also credited as UE5 Engineer in The Amazing Digital Circus Episodes 3 and 4 due to the team continuing to use my tools and pipeline after I left the company.
